Blackberries

Blackberries are adapted to all areas of Arkansas. Many soil types are suitable for blackberry production. However, the optimum soil pH range is 5.5 to 6.5 and good soil drainage is essential.

APACHE - is very productive and selected because of its great flavor, good yield and very large fruit. The flavor of these shiny black fruit makes them an ideal choice for eating fresh or for use in your favorite pies, jams and jellies.  Thornless

NATCHEZ  -  produces large, sweet berries each year. Fruit stores well for extended enjoyment.  Thornless

NAVAHO - is a top-pick berry bush that produces the sweetest of all blackberries.  Thornless

PRIME ARK FREEDOM -   produces very large berries with good flavor.  Thornless

BABY CAKES - This new variety from Bushel and Berry has a compact size that suits it to small gardens or large containers. Large, sweet blackberries ripen in two crops in most regions.  These are self-pollinating; Baby Cakes blackberry does not need a companion.
